Appendix H: Continental sized cards with the newer type of Divided backs

In 1994 an 1995 the Magic Kingdoms Tomorrowland received an overhaul, gone were the sleek concrete lines reminiscent of 2001: A Space Odyssey at the entrance to this land. The new entrance features rock work that looks like it could be straight from Mars. Lots of spirals, arching shapes, rocket fin shapes, and at night neon give it a 1950's "Future that never was" feel. And that's exactly what the bright shiny foil card that was sold in Tomorrowland in the late 1990's says. This foil card was probably the first to use the asymmetrical type back now in favor by the postal service. This new type of divided back, has a larger space for writing your message. This increase in message space was provided by having the dividing line on the back of the card off center with the smaller, address space on the right. On later cards, (though not on this earlier Tomorrowland card )there is also a small block along the bottom of the card for the use of the United States Postal Services sorting equipment, specifically the barcoding equipment that has automated even the sending of personal letters.

With the opening of Animal Kingdoms Asia section in 1999 a new series of Animal Kingdom cards was issued. In addition to the views of the Asia area, new cards were issued of subjects that had been covered before. These cards totally replaced the old Animal Kingdom series. By 2002 New issues at the Magic Kingdom were following suit.


Additionally, there are various logos at the top center on the back of these cards. So with each copyright version there will also be a number to show which logo goes with each copyright.
